What Do We Believe
There is only one God, the Triune God existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is all powerful, all-knowing and always present.
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.
God, as Father is the creator and sustainer of the universe. God acts as a loving Father to all people.
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. While true God, Christ humbled himself to be born a true man, live a sinless life, and die on the cross to redeem us from our sin. He rose from the dead in victory over death and the devil. He ascended into heaven where He reigns with the Father and awaits the time when He will return in glory to judge the world and take all believers to heaven.
The Holy Spirit, also true God, inspired men to write the Scriptures. He moves men to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. He equips, empowers and encourages believers to serve God in and through His Church.
Mankind is the special creation of God, made in His own image. In the beginning man knew no sin yet was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the entire human race. Only the Grace of God offered through Jesus Christ can bring man into fellowship with Him.
Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ.
The Church is the Body of Christ which includes all believers. In twenty-first century North American culture, the expression “church” is seen as a local congregation where believers, associated by faith and fellowship, exercise the gifts, privileges and ordinances of the Christian faith. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ Jesus striving to fulfill His Great Command (Mark12: 30-31)and Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20).
Through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Renewed Hope Christian Community gathers together as a body of Believers with Christ alone as its Head. God’s love is the supreme power in all of creation and is certainly greater than any differences we may possess. Therefore, Renewed Hope Christian Community is not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations; we are, however, greatly concerned with the over-emphasis of interpretations of non-salvation issues which lead to division within the Body of Christ.
Our supreme desire is to encounter, experience and express God’s love in the world. We believe this is best practiced as we “Love God, Love Others and Offer Hope” through personal devotion, small group and worship gatherings.

As we join together to receive the bread and the wine in the Lord’s Supper, we acknowledge our united Christian faith and proclaim our personal redemption through the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Simply eating bread and drinking wine holds no power, however, when connected with God’s Word we participate in the blessings which God gives us through faith.
The Bible advocates and even commands water baptism connected with the Word of God. It is God’s Word which empowers baptism not our participation. Because Scripture does not give specific details as to the timing, place or method of baptism, Renewed Hope Christian Community makes a conscious choice to defer to God’s ability to work all things for good. Therefore, Renewed Hope Christian Community recognizes all Christian baptisms as valid and yields to God’s grace in all instances.
